Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction, also called spiritual friendship or spiritual companioning, is a relationship between a trained spiritual director and a person seeking to be attentive to the spiritual – their relationship with the Creator. The regular sessions (usually monthly) focus on noticing the Presence in their daily lives. Sharing and discussions might also address spiritual questions, readings, prayer. It provides an opportunity to focus on and enter into conversation about spiritual matters.

The session, which is usually about an hour, is a prayerful time when both listen for the Spirit. It is not counseling or therapy.

Pat Hoerth is the spiritual director at Turtle Rock Farm. A United Methodist Deaconess, her spiritual direction training was a five-year program at Red Plains Monastery, Piedmont, OK. She has a Master’s of Divinity degree from Phillips Theological Seminary. She has lead individuals and groups through the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola. She is open to spiritual direction with people of all faiths and those who are not connected with a faith community.

She is available for spiritual direction while you are having a retreat or quiet day at Turtle Rock Farm Retreat Center, or for regular, monthly sessions. $30 - $50, per session, depending on the length and your budget.
